The Mandate of Heaven天命
This is a blog about politics, religion, media, and society, as well as what links these seemingly separate fields. Now that I am living in Taiwan, the focus has shifted to the situation here, but politics, religion, media, and random images--mental and actual--are within the realm of the possible here. Thank you for joining us.

haha, that's so funny. i'm so glad you were soooo brave and took that picture. that one guy shook his head "no" at you, but then laughed and came over to talk to us. that was cool.
I guess I felt brave after my momentary humiliation when I dropped my newly purchased, piping hot sweet potato on the ground, reinforcing any stereotypes those present already had of the laowai. Actually, the handle broke. Anyway, they were a fun gang.
